About me
This is my 15th year in education. For 12 years, I served as a high school classroom teacher, primarily in the English Language Arts classroom. I am passionate about digital literacies in the classroom. I believe they serve as a tool for students to not only learn how to communicate with others, but also how to be critical readers of the media they are consuming daily.
For the past 2 years, I have served as one of the Instructional Coaches at Mooresville High School. In this role, I support teachers of all content areas. I focus on helping our beginning teachers learn their practice, teachers who have specific instructional goals, and teachers who are struggling to engage students with their content. I work closely with my colleague and other secondary instructional staff in our district to develop and facilitate meaningful professional development opportunities that will translate to student achievement.
My personal education experience includes a BA in English Literature (with a minor in Secondary Education), an MA in English Literature and an MEd. in Curriculum and Instruction--all from UNC Charlotte. I am currently pursuing my administration add-on from Appalachian State University.
