In this Library Comic-Con workshop session you’ll receive hands-on experience of how to host a ComicCon at your school so that your students and the community will have an opportunity to explore the art and creativity behind comics and pop culture. Attendees will learn about budgeting, hosting a judging panel for cosplay competition, where to find vendors and guest speakers and how to market the event. The workshop is designed to be interactive, offering opportunities for participants to ask questions, share their own ideas, and collaborate with others. It's an ideal session for librarians who see the importance of graphic novels and are eager to share the comic world with their school and community.

This session will demonstrate how to use the free AI features of Quizizz to quickly and easily enhance it's use in your classroom. Participants will explore several features including creating video quizzes from YouTube, turning pdf worksheets into quizzes or lessons, importing from a question bank to create a quiz, providing student accommodations, using websites or online articles to create quizzes, and more. Participants will leave with newly created or enhanced classroom materials that are ready to use. Each of these features take minutes to implement saving hours of work time.

In this 90-minute walking tour, you’ll visit iconic landmarks within a one-mile radius of the Raleigh Convention Center such as the NC Executive Mansion, NC State Capitol, Pope House Museum, and City of Raleigh Museum. Discover North Carolina-related picture books that complement each stop along the way, and learn to use innovative digital tools to create engaging and interactive walking tours.
