About me
Dr. Mitchell serves as the District STEM Coordinator for Wilson County Schools where she advocates for innovative teaching practices, including integrative STEM education, robotics, educational technologies, and project-based learning. She graduated with her doctorate from the University of South Carolina in Curriculum & Instruction with a concentration in STEM Education. She was the recipient of the USC Departmental STEM Doctoral Achievement Award for her dissertation work in 2023. Her passions and research interests include experiential professional development to support K-12 educators in designing and implementing STEM opportunities for their students. She is a 2024-2025 Kenan Fellow, a NASA Ambassador through the NC Space Grant, and serves on the NC Science Leadership Association Board of Directors.
