The mission of the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics, an innovative and collaborative leader in secondary STEM education, is to advance our state, nation, and world by creating opportunities for broad access to exemplary public education that fosters, challenges, inspires, and empowers students and communities to design their future. 
The NCSSM Extended Learning division serves as the outreach arm of the school, collaborating with public schools and communities to provide all students with access to academically rigorous curriculum and experiential learning experiences that supplement and strengthen mathematics, science, computer science, engineering, and humanities teaching and learning through courses, conferences, summer programs, and teacher professional development.
