Join us for an engaging, hands-on session that blends STEM and literacy! You’ll dive into activities such as building a strong structure, designing a Mars Rover, “Saving Gus,” and exploring real NASA data. Our goal is to showcase how the Engineering Design Process connects to literacy (both fiction and non-fiction), science content, technology integration, and inquiry skills. With activities that range from low-tech to high-tech (and even no-tech), this session will demonstrate the versatility and accessibility of STEM for all classrooms.
Join us for a dynamic session on the potential impacts of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on Social and Emotional (SEL) competencies and student mental health. We’ll highlight the essential role of educators in guiding AI interactions to ensure they reinforce, rather than detract from, SEL goals. Participants will leave equipped with practical strategies for overseeing chatbot use, engaging students in meaningful conversations about AI’s influence on their development, and mindfully integrating AI as a supportive educational tool. Don't miss this opportunity to engage in essential discussions on the future of SEL in an AI-driven world!

In this session, NCDPI and Identity Automation will demonstrate the latest version and benefits of RapidIdentity Studio, a free rostering tool offered through the state’s NCEdCloud contract. NCDPI will explain the process by which PSUs can request to use Studio to augment or replace existing rostering solutions such as Clever or ClassLink. Benefits of using Studio include the ability to securely roster applications that comply with OneRoster standards as well as those that do not, manipulate data coming in from the source and going out to the targets, and roster users who are not in your SIS system such as long term substitutes.
